Welcome to the Shinto and Buddhism board! Use this forum to discuss the religions of Japan in any era-the Sengoku, Kamakura, Heian, pre-Buddhism, or the present day. The rules here are simple-no profanity, no flaming, and respect for ALL religions will be maintained. In the next week or so we’ll be posting a series giving the basics of Shinto, the tenets of Buddhism, and a little information on the infamous Sohei (warrior monks) and Ikko-Ikki. Feel free to start your own threads and discussions. As our friends at Higashi Hongan-ji say, ‘Let us discover the significance of birth and the joy of living’.
