On Sunday, I happened to be in the Meijiro section of Tokyo, and I stumbled across a katana and armor shop called Iidakoendo. The shop's webpage link is: http://www.iidakoendo.com. The shop had a beautiful and pricey collection, but I did walk out of there with one purchase-- a book. For the low price of 3,500 yen, I was able to get a gorgeous hardcover book titled, "The Flores of Japanese Sword, Masters of Edo Period: Kotetsu and Kiyomaro". The book was published to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Sano Art Museum (in Mishima) which had a special exhibition of Koetsu and Kiyomaro swords that were displayed between July 1 - August 1, 2006.

Again, this book has some stunning photos of Edo period katana. If you want a copy of this book, I suggest that you contact the store directly. It is a family business, and I believe the son, Yoshio Iida, speaks English. The email address on his business card is katana@iidakoendo.com.

Already in my biblioteque, by months. A must to have.
I deeply suggest you to get a copy (or three...)
to re-sell it in US. It'll make the same as Masamune
exibition's catalogue : 3 or 4 times the price in a
couple years. Kotetsu and Kiyomaro are among the most
appreciated later swordmiths ever.
