Hello,
I've seen this armour in books, but the text is in Japanese. Any ideas what Clans or Armies may have worn armour like this? Thank You.
Honda?
Zen coin design - Mizuno Katsushige perhaps? Oda? Sengoku Hidehisa?

The zen coin armour belonged to the ashigaru of Sengoku Hidehisa. Photo of reenactor wear the combination of the gold jingasa with the okegawa-do depicted.
Bethetsu could probably help with the armour at the top, the first two characters seem to say:
'ie' + 'naka'
The next character:
'fu'(?) from Fuwa
The last character:
'ak' from Akashi or Akechi |

You REALLY need a clearer picture for that first one. It's kind of useless when we can't read the kanji.
I can make out X中不X
The first X could be anything, I can't tell. The second X looks like 明 to me. That would make the second part 不明, which means "unknown". Anything beyond that is useless in terms of reading the captions. 家中不明 (if evalerio is correct and that first character is Ie) would be "kachuu fumei", or "family unknown". _________________

Nate,
You are right. It is 'Family unknown'.
I've found THE photo and photos of a lot more ashigaru armour of various color and different mon. All labelled with the same four characters for 'Family unknown'. |

Thank you Nate and Emmanuel. Yes very sorry for the poor quality pics; it's a matter of what I can find in Google or Bing at the moment. I'm working on buying the actual books.
I was thinking it was Honda. Again my apologies to you both and Thanks. _________________ All The Best,

Ah, no worries, I thought it was a pic you had taken. Glad we could help. _________________
