Holy crap-just saw a blurb for this several year old series on the SA Facebook page. It's too hilarious to be true! The Tom Cruise story mixed with 16th century Japan set into the 12th century-all that AND ninja that are ALSO pirates!!!!!! Who says you can't have it all? And is the author ever in love with himself...the whole series has to be a comedy spoof, doesn't it? I'm tempted to read it for the sheer awesome idiocy of it all (even given the fact that it's a kids book), but I still have several episodes of Samurai Bride to watch and it's WAY more believable.

The "Cinema is a den of superior eurocentric white imperialists" crowd would get a kick out of the Aryan kid who becomes a sammyrai. Laughing

I would love to see a series done about Yasuke, Oda Nobunaga's bodyguard. I know there is Kurosuke already, but, an adult version. There is so little known that an historical fiction would have fertile ground. John

Harry Potter with Japan as Hogwarts seems like a nice summary.
