I am actually in Japan at the moment and my copy will be waiting for me when I get home. I cannot wait to crack the book open and read the juicy information.

Did get the chance to meet with Mr. Wataru Kajino, Mr. Okehazama. Spent the whole day with him discussing Okehazama and Nobunaga.

Where are you seeing this? On the Brill site, it's $199 or 140 Euro, which since the dollar sucks is $201.

Well, darn it. The wife bought it for me through Amazon, but I didn't see this in time to tell her to order through the SA site. Sad. We could use the money to cover those podcasting costs (like the coffee and snacks she makes) too.

Well it goes for anyone. All book purchases done through the SA bookstore are fulfilled by amazon.com so no worries, and the SA gets a little cut to help me pay for the costs of everything from the sever, the podcast, and the parking of .us .net and a bunch of other domains for samurai-archives to keep away the spammers and scum who try to capitalize on the name. I don't personally profit from the page, but I usually scrape together enough over the course of the year to cover the costs. Also, if you click through the SA store to amazon.com ANYTHING You buy we get credit for.

Amazon just emailed and offered to buy back my copy of 'Chronicles' for $15 store credit. After I paid them $200 for it two months ago.

Don't really care about price, this book is worth any penny you put in it.

First, you understand very quickly that a lot of reference to the famous people of that period of Sengoku is coming from that book.

Next you have several explanations about mistakes, omissions from Gyuichi, and also current location of old places all along the book to give you reading help.

The index is great also !

It is worth every penny. I cannot keep my hands off of it. Laughing Everyday I learn something new. By far one of the most important books in my library.

Book is now listed on Amazon 'used only' for $1080. On the same page, Amazon offered to buy back the copy I bought in 2011 for a $17.37 gift card Smile .

(Book is still available for a little under $200 on Brill's website)

Shocked

If they'd give me a bigger cut of the $1080, I'd scan my copy and send it back.
