I've been money for about a year now, and I was thinking about purchesing some armor from Samura-Store.com. I decided to ask you all what you think of there products. Are they good quality? What kind of material are they made of? Are they worth the price they're asking? I just don't want to spend my money on a cheap 28 gauge aluminum foil, plastic bolted peice of junk.
Thank you.

Yeah, I asked about these guys earlier, and I also spoke to a guy in Japan who collects antique armours and has bought a few armours from Marutake Sangyo. He said they are high quality replicas, and worth the money.

I've been looking at these kabuto lately too (the Muromachi era looking ones. It also lists some from Marutake Sangyo):

I hope that if you guys do buy armor, that you'll post pictures of yourselves at some point. These samurai dress-up photos are pretty amusing! Laughing

If (when) I do eventually splurge out on a kabuto, I'll be sure to take an amazingly cheesy photo, wielding a plastic ninja-to. Just for you. Just Kidding

For some reason, this reminds me of some frightful pictures I've seen of large men dressed as Sailor Moon. Aaahh!

I look forward to seeing people in their armor as well! Please post a warning if you're starting with the fundoshi. Just Kidding

Great! A beer bushi!!!
I once heard a tale that two clans in old sengoku-period Japan went to war against each other over light beer. One clan claimed that Light Beer from Miller tasted great, the other claimed it was less filling! Very Happy Laughing
