Insane. I enjoy collecting nihonto, but not that much. You could possibly get a Tokubetsu or Juyo grade daimyo class gusoku for that price. But then again that's just me. I've always enjoyed collecting armor slightly more than swords.

Ranger,

It appears that either set would be sufficient. Mayhaps a little wobbly, but still enough to hold. I would love to see the fittings that require a square mekugi.

Hi Paul. Likely you've read the hell of thread
that this Tanto started elsewhere.

I think it could be interesting to post some info
about this blade's history, because it has been
greatly restored and because it shows what magics
can a great polisher do. I refer to the elimination
of the Gimei (fake signature) made altering the
original one's kanji WITHOUT ACTUALLY REMOVE THE
ORIGINAL.
