Here are some pics I came across of Mongolian/Chinese armor from the time of their invasions of Japan. There are some remarkable pieces here of a helmet, chain mail and what appears to be a Mongolian version of "haramaki-do" style of armor (I'm not an expert on armor so I could be wrong about the assumption that it laces up in the back).

Regarding the weapons, from left to right: Mongolian/Chinese bow and arrows; Korean bow; a thunder-bomb explosive; Mongolian/Chinese swords

The pics come from a Japanese coffee table book called 北条時宗とその時代展 (Hojo Tokimune and that Time Period Exhibition). There's a lot of great stuff in this book, but I'm reluctant to post more-- for obvious reasons. I probably shouldn't have posted those pics, but I couldn't resist. Wink

That looks like a great book. I am fond of this period, and there is little in the way of good reference to it.
Thanks!

According to the book, the bow is 178 cm or 5.84 ft. The arrow length is 98 cm or 3.21 feet. Quite big!
