Gackt is going "Hollywood".

Translation by Shikisoku
Gackt has been cast to the Hollywood movie "Bunraku".
The director Guy Moshe saw Gackt on Furinkazan and wanted him to be on the movie as the partner of Josh Hartnett.

Gackt is going to release making of Furinkazan DVD 天翔る龍の如く in May.

Hmmmmm....... Naughty naughty

Well, it took three years, but the movie seems to be ready:

I hate the sets, it looks like Pistol Opera, which was deplorable. I'm just gonna come right out and say it: this looks like a clusterf*ck of a movie.

Pinoy Pinay is also a really good Filipino fast food restaurant here in Los Angeles. Ummm. Laughing

So what's wrong with posting the translation?

Your question is 3 years too late.

Bunraku was SO BAD.

Highly stylized garbage that was way too long and drawn out. The sets looked like someone gave Tim Burton a ton of money and a bag of magic mushrooms and said "go to town". Every scene is about 50% longer than it should have been, the dialogue was overly artsy, and the talent was pretty much wasted. In fact, I watched the last 2/3 of the movie at double speed JUST TO FINISH IT.

Two things were going through my mind the entire movie (which was a chore to finish, don't underappreciate that fact) - 1. "What the hell is this?" and 2. "It's strange hearing Gact's cool voice coming from such an effeminate face.". This movie was ridiculously, horribly, terribly bad. And this is coming from someone who loves movies and can always find even a little good in most movies. This one had next to none. The only good thing I can possibly say about it is that Ron Perlman was great with what he was given. I think he's overlooked, but Ron Perlman is a great actor. I almost never rate a movie less than 3/5 stars. I gave this movie 1 star. The set designer from Sucker Punch should have done this movie, that alone would have bumped it to probably 2.5 stars.

I think it could have been good with real sets and a little more serious editing, but I can't recommend this movie to anyone, unless you liked "Pistol Opera" or way out there artsy garbage. If you do like that stuff, knock yourself out. Otherwise, think of this movie as the plague - avoid it.

And I wanted it to be good, if only to get a Japanese actor like Gact some good press to maybe get more Japanese into hollywood, and same goes for Japan-related movies. But this set Japan back a decade.

I did find one person who thought it was great ,don't know what they were on when they watched it though .
The movie has one redeeming quality though ,when it hits cable it will be recommended viewing to put me to sleep ,so as a film no as a sleeping aid cant beat it .
