Want to be a Ninja? A Samurai? A Kunoichi? Go HERE!

Wow....and I mean...wow. Check out the "Auxilliary Training" section--I SOOO want to attend a seminar.

Apparently, to be a Kunoichi, one must have obnoxious eyeliner and trailer-trash haircuts...Who knew that the girls in every 'Slayer' and 'Poison' video in the 1980's were Kunoichi...

And I thought the Christian Ninja page was the ultimate in stupidity. Some of those 'Student Testimonials' are great.
"I sometimes ditched my job to attend training."
"These people were like superhuman warriors from the past".
And the 'Kunoichi' look like guys in drag to me.

I am so sick of this crap, I can't even make fun of it. That's why sports like Muy Taj and Brazilian Jui Jitsu attract all the people and systems were designed to kill on a battlefield or in duel are mocked by wanker "practitioners' and poser idiots like these .... this is the worst time for martial arts, UFC is the most "real fighting" there ever was and combatives are represented by jokers for the most part .....

Dr.Mavashi,

Agreed. I was more entertained by the original incarnation of UFC before everyone became the same BJJ/Muay Thai/shoot fighting monkeys.
I am, unfortunately, not in good enough shape to participate in any such contests.
The biggest problem, historically speaking, is that trying to find something classical has become even more difficult. Record keeping in classical arts is laughable at best. What I find the most humorous and distressing is that later generations will have to take modern MMA stylists seriously in the historical record.

I've been to a few UFC matches (woohoo! I sat directly behind Ken Shamrock ringside one year!) but I can't help but think that a takedown and chokehold isn't going to work too well when you have 2 or 3 guys after you.

That's an interesting point. I can't think of any historical correlations off the top of my head, but history is like that - we can only see what people write down. If enough people in historical contemporary records claim something, the historian doesn't have much choice but to accept it. 300 years from now, Ashida Kim might be the legendary sammyrai ninjer master he claims to be. Laughing

kitsuno,

Yeah. There is a comedy special called "Assume the Position" done by Robert Wuhl. It covers the concept of history being the product of popular culture. It is one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen and it is disturbingly accurate.
There is a sequel to it that is coming out tonight.

He was on Larry King live last night, they had a clip or two - it looked pretty good. I'll have to see if I can find the Torrent file.

Yeah while you are working to set up triangle choke, tianglee's pals are gonna score a soccer penalty kick .... with your head.

Think about this, what are some of the most fundamental things about real "bladed combat?" Get yourself outside of the blades point, one-strike - one kill. Why should even empty handed combat be different??? That is, to play tactical exchange games(set ups, fakes, leting the guy work a little then picking it up on the counter) should logically be seen as a kiss of death. Now if you look at MMA fights you will see that there is so much frontal exchanges and waiting games that it has nothing to do with rapid danger and brutality of real H2H combat. But all the traditionalists are so far away from pain and bruises of real training that nobody pratices the real thing anymore.
