The owner family was Nanushi(village leader) in Edo period, they donated the sword to local board of education.
Blade length is 22cm, short sword.
The sword wasn't able to register as art sword.

For those who like me don't know anything about swords, it seems that a sakabatou 逆刃刀 is a sword that has the blade on the inside of the curve and the "mune" or "mine" on the outside. The family that owned the sword worked with horses in the Edo period, so the knife may be related to that work.
These blades are falsely known as Helmet Spliters because of the little hook at the base. In fact that were actually use to sever the head of a defeated enemy. _________________ Echizen no kami Kawayama
